A vulnerable resident -to-a Carer

Careloop teamCareloop ·

A gift from a Vulnerable resident may seem harmless, but it can quickly become a serious problem. So, should carers accept gifts or money from residents?

Carers should not accept money or personal gifts from service users unless this is specifically permitted under the organisation's policy. Accepting gifts can create conflicts of interest, blur professional boundaries, and raise safeguarding concerns. Politely explain that you are unable to accept personal gifts or money because of professional boundaries and company policy. The offer should be reported to a manager/on-call person where required by the organisation's policy.
